Dusk comes to the shores of Lake Kawana

The Sunshine Coast Council and Community Solutions have joined forces to create Dusk – a free, family-friendly outdoor, licenced community event celebrating live music, art and culture.

Outdoor live music is coming to the shores of Lake Kawana with free concerts set to become a regular feature at the newly renamed Venue 114.

The Sunshine Coast Council and Community Solutions have joined forces to create Dusk – a free, family-friendly outdoor, licenced community event celebrating live music, art and culture.

The inaugural event will feature local artists Andrea Kirwin and band, award-winning world music act Highlife and Alisha Todd on the Venue 114 outdoor stage.

People can bring along a picnic rug and umbrella and set up outside the freshly painted venue to enjoy the honey-toned and heartfelt lyrics of Ms Kirwan, the high-energy jams of Highlife and the country fusion delights of Ms Todd as the sun sets behind the lake.

Dusk will also deliver roving entertainment and face painting for the children, and food trucks will be on hand to fuel your dancing machine.

Community Solutions managing director David Curd says there will be four Dusk events scheduled over the next 12 months, providing local residents and visitors to the region with the opportunity to join in.

“People will be able to enjoy the beautiful and unique sunsets over Lake Kawana and we would welcome a gold-coin donation to support our chosen charity to help people in need,” he says.

“This is a wonderful initiative for a community that is quickly becoming one of the most energising destinations on the Sunshine Coast.”
