A new era for musical brothers

Caloundra brothers Tim and Sam Aitken have become something of a permanent fixture on street corners around south-east Queensland.

Every available weekend, they grab their guitar and cajon, pick their shop front or lane way and set about entertaining Saturday shoppers with their easy style and trademark sibling harmonies.

As the young buskers began replacing popular covers with their own original songs, they dared to dream that one day they might swap these street corners for their own headline shows.

The first real hint that these aspirations may be more than a fantasy came in late 2016 when the world`s largest music publisher Sony/ATV signed the boys, formerly known as Hoo8Hoo, to a long term deal.

Now under their new name Sametime, the Aitkens are set to release their debut single Where The Wind Blows, a strikingly beautiful melody which showcases their glorious harmonies and explores the fear and uncertainty of following your dreams.

“Sam and I are standing at a crossroads right now,” Tim says.

“We know we can`t go back and we have worked hard for this opportunity, but it still feels like a terrifying leap into the unknown. That’s what this song is all about”.

Sametime will perform at the Caloundra Street Fair on September 3. For more information, check out Sametime on Facebook.
